A Month on the Run, TNI Member Who Abused an Elementary School Student in Southeast Sulawesi Captured

An Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) sergeant, Majid Bone alias MB, the suspect in an alleged sexual assault involving a primary school pupil in Konawe Selatan, Southeast Sulawesi, has been captured after a month on the run. Denpom XIV/3 Kendari commander Letkol CPM Haryadi Budaya Pela said the suspect was captured after fleeing and moving between locations. “He was captured this morning (Tuesday),” he told detikcom on Wednesday (20 May).

Haryadi stated Majid Bone was apprehended at his flight location in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. He did not provide further details on the exact arrest site. The commander noted Majid Bone is currently undergoing intensive questioning in Bone Regency and that he will be prosecuted in accordance with the applicable laws.

“We will process him according to the rules that apply to his criminal acts,” he said.

Earlier, Sertu Majid Bone was suspected of molesting a child who was still in elementary school. The suspect fled during questioning at Kodim 1417/Kendari until he was designated a DPO (Daftar Pencarian Orang).

The case began when Majid Bone was reported for alleged abuse of a minor. The act reportedly occurred at his home in Ranomeeto, Konawe Selatan (April 14). Relatives of the victim said the child cried hysterically due to depression resulting from the incident.
