Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKJ) held the Jakarta Chinese New Year Festival 2026 for the first time, featuring a wide array of Chinese arts and cultural performances as well as colourful and vibrant light installations.

The festival ran from 13 to 17 February 2026.

Meanwhile in Solo, Central Java Province, the streets from City Hall to Pasar Gede were adorned with lanterns of various shapes and festive colours, adding to the Chinese New Year celebrations.

The festivities in both cities were captured in a series of photographs by Xinhua.
