A Look at the Splendour of Malioboro Imlek Carnival in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta — The Malioboro Imlek Carnival, held as part of the 21st Yogyakarta Chinese Culture Week (PBTY), was organised with the spirit of preserving Indonesia’s cultural diversity and featured the theme “Cultural Heritage, National Strength”.

Photographs taken on 28 February 2026 captured performances by numerous lion dancers participating in the Malioboro Imlek Carnival, which took place along Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
