A Look at the Omoda O4's Arrival in Indonesia
The Indonesian automotive market is set to welcome the latest electric vehicle from Omoda & Jaecoo, the Omoda O4, which features artificial intelligence-based technology to attract local consumers.
During a preview session, the vehicle was observed to adopt a ‘Cyber Mecha Design’ philosophy. This design language blends modern electric vehicle characteristics with futuristic touches inspired by science fiction. The result is a look distinct from typical electric SUVs, with sharp body lines and aggressive proportions. The Omoda O4 features a closed front grille, a hallmark of electric vehicles.
From the side, the Omoda O4’s silhouette appears sleek with a sloping roofline towards the rear, giving it a coupe-like crossover feel. The contours on the doors, fenders, and rear pillars are minimal yet precise, presenting a clean and aerodynamic appearance. This approach aims not only to enhance aesthetics but also to reduce wind resistance, contributing to energy efficiency and driving range. The rear maintains the futuristic theme with slim, horizontally connected lights, complemented by a roof spoiler for a sporty impression. The overall body proportions are designed to convey a dynamic look, even when stationary.
The modern ambience continues inside the cabin. The Omoda O4 features a minimalist cockpit concept inspired by spacecraft. The interior is equipped with an entertainment system supporting built-in games and wireless gamepad connectivity, reinforcing the vehicle’s orientation as an electric SUV that merges futuristic design with an interactive digital experience.
As a pure electric vehicle, the Omoda O4 is equipped with a 65.05 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a range of up to 553 kilometres based on NEDC testing. The car supports DC fast charging up to 119 kW, allowing a charge from 20 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes. For performance, the electric motor produces a maximum output of 160 kW and 275 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
Omoda & Jaecoo stated that the launch in Indonesia is the first step in the global expansion of its Super AI Cockpit technology, with marketing scheduled to begin in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern countries in the fourth quarter of 2026.
