A Glimpse into West Java's Product Readiness to Penetrate the European Market via Digital Product Passport
The global market demands transparency, sustainability, and product traceability, compelling businesses in West Java to digitally prove the origin and authenticity of their goods. Carbon tracking for Java Spices, a business from Cijeruk, Bogor, is conducted from the planting of seeds on organic land through to the packaging process using the INA Trading export platform, by embedding a PERURI RFID Blockchain sticker on each spice product package. “The regulation in Europe for implementing RFID and Blockchain will be mandatory from 2030, meaning a Digital Product Passport must be on every product shipped to Europe. INA Trading is here to connect businesses and buyers worldwide; they can purchase goods whose authenticity is guaranteed using PERURI RFID Blockchain and scanned via the INA Trading mobile application,” said Amiranto Adi Wibow, CEO of PUNDI & INA Trading, at the PERURI RFID Blockchain Seminar & Curation event in Bandung on Friday, 26 June 2026. PERURI Smart Card calculates the carbon footprint from the organic land using IoT devices in the soil, trucks, and factories. “All the IoT devices we use are connected to the INA Trading and PERURI Digital Security platforms for RFID & Blockchain implementation,” said Muchrizal, CEO of PERURI Smart Card. The curation of products from Bandung and West Java resulted in a cooperation agreement between PUNDI/INA Trading, Polaris, and Java Spices/Archipelago for the use of PERURI RFID Blockchain on bottled spice products and processed bamboo items such as chairs, tables, and home decor, destined for export to the Netherlands. Sales of West Java products are also planned for Serbia and other Eastern European countries. Shipments are scheduled to be sent by container to the Netherlands for the End of Year Sales 2026 programme in Europe and in-store sales, together with PERURI Smart Card, PERURI Digital Security, and PUNDI/INA Trading. However, prior to shipping to Europe, marketing communications consultant Ginung Pratidina explained that each European country has a different communication strategy character, so West Java products must adapt, for instance through packaging colours and storytelling on social media content. Therefore, businesses must improve their packaging and promotional materials before exporting to Europe. The seminar concluded that when a consumer receives a product, the embedded RFID can be scanned to display various information, such as the origin of raw materials, artisan identity, production location, materials used, carbon footprint, certifications, and the product’s authenticity status verified through blockchain technology. Meanwhile, Peruri Digital Security provides digital signature technology, smart contracts, and digital security systems to maintain product data integrity. PUNDI provides the blockchain infrastructure and digital platform that allows a product’s entire journey to be recorded transparently and be difficult to manipulate.
