A festive season at the Jakarta Hilton
A festive season at the Jakarta Hilton
The holiday season has arrived. Christmas, the New Millennium
and Idul Fitri are lined up and ripe for celebration. If you're
after a quiet time or the party of a lifetime, the Jakarta Hilton
International and its staff are ready to help.
Why not give yourself a real break and take yourself to the
Hilton? Eating, drinking and being merry couldn't be easier.
Washing up and all of life's other little chores are now someone
else's. And the journey home after a night out is a breeze.
Prices start from as low as Rp 400,000++ for a double room in
the Main Tower. A Garden Tower double is Rp 500,000++ and the
luxurious Lagoon Tower is Rp 600,000++. On Dec. 30 and Dec. 31,
these rates are raised by only Rp 150.000++.
The list of benefits and special packages is long and eye-
catching. Guests who check in on Dec. 24 through to Jan. 1, 2000,
are rewarded with an automatic upgrade to a suite, while those
who arrive before Dec. 31 receive an exclusive T-shirt. An
American breakfast or sahur (predawn meal), is also included, as
is the use of the gym and swimming pool. Late check out until 4
p.m. means that a leisurely lie-in and a final swim can be
enjoyed even on the day of departure.
Throughout the fasting month there are sahur and buka puasa
(breaking of the fast) buffets in Peacock Cafe and Sriwedari.
Even for those who are not fasting, the later is especially worth
a trip, as delicacies are on offer from all over the archipelago
that are rarely found at other times of the year.
For Idul Fitri or Christmas gifts and goodies, staff at the
Confiserie Delicatessen can fill a hamper full of cakes,
pastries, chocolates and other items.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Taman Sari restaurant is
open and serving a very special set menu by candlelight for Rp
300,000++ per person. Also on Christmas Day, those in search of
seasonal cheer should make tracks for the Kudus Bar, where an
eggnog party is promised.
There is something for everyone on New Year's Eve at the
Hilton. So much that even the most jaded partygoer cannot fail to
find somewhere that suits his or her taste. Peacock Cafe is
holding a buffet, with a "hangover breakfast" to welcome in the
year 2000. The cost is just Rp 120.000++ per person.
At Sriwedari Garden, the New Year's Eve buffet is available
for Rp 120,000++ per person with entertainment provided by the
MPV Band.
For the slighter older crowd, Taman Sari is the only place to
be. For Rp 500,000++ you can feast on a set dinner, while a 60s
band brings back the memories of New Year's Eves past.
The Hilton doesn't forget that children deserve a party too.
While moms and dads are wining and dining, the kids are sure to
have a night to remember in the Lagoon Bar. Until the clock
strikes midnight, they can take their pick from a buffet filled
with kid's favorites and tire themselves out on the playground
for Rp 50,000++ per child.
Chinese food lovers will be pleased to know that master chef
Tam Kam Yin is providing a Set Menu at Rp 250,000++ per person
besides the a la carte menu to welcome in the new Millennium.
Similarly, Nippon Kan is serving its regular a la carte Japanese
delicacies created by Chef Ogawa. Both restaurants are perfect
for a quiet meal on this most special of nights.
You want to party like its 1999? Oriental Discotheque's cover
charge is Rp 115,000++ per person with a first drink to get you
in the mood, and once you are in, let the acclaimed Paragitha
Band keep you there.
The Medium Jazzy Band is playing pop jazz classics in the
Lagoon Cafe and are sure to attract its usual appreciative
audience. Chef Klinkhammer has a continuous parade of buffets
planned for just Rp 120,000++ per person.
Over in Tomat at the Pizzaria, the Warna Warni Band is ready
to lead revelers in the final countdown of 1999. Rp 150,000++
will get you as many of the legendary pizzas you can eat.
The Hilton is also on hand to pick up the pieces on the day
after the biggest night of the year. For those who have over done
it on the Oriental's dance floor, a day spent by the pool sounds
like one of the best cures around. Drop in with friends and
family and spend a day relaxing.
Sriwedari has an a la carte menu for lunch and a buka puasa
buffet for Rp 70,000++ per person; Peacock Cafe has a sparkling
lunch buffet also for Rp 70,000++ plus sahur and buka puasa
spreads. Not to be outdone, the Lagoon Cafe will also host
another one of its sumptuous buffets for Rp 70,000++. Nippon Kan
and Lotus are open for a la carte lunch and dinner bookings,
while Taman Sari is taking a lunch break but will be open for an
a la carte dinner.
