A day at the races

JAKARTA (JP): The national equestrian sports association will
hold the Kartini Cup and Supersemar Sprint horse racing
championships at the Pulomas race track, East Jakarta, tomorrow.

Fendy Karman of the association said the races would be the
testing ground for a new generation of thoroughbred horses
fathered by imported stallions given to the association by
President Soeharto.

A total of 71 horses from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java,
West Sumatra and North Sulawesi, will compete in tomorrow's
