A Close Look at the Vehicle Testing Proving Ground Facilities in Bekasi

Indonesia has finally established a proving ground as a motor vehicle testing facility located at the Roadworthiness and Motor Vehicle Certification Testing Centre (BPLJSKB), Cibitung, Bekasi, West Java. Standing on a 90-hectare plot of land, the BPLJSKB proving ground, which began operations in August 2025, is designed as a centre for testing vehicles to national and international standards before they are marketed, both domestically and abroad. Head of BPLJSKB, Iman Sukandar, stated that this proving ground features various tracks and laboratories to test aspects of safety, performance, durability, emissions, and modern vehicle technologies. With the existence of this proving ground, the vehicle testing process becomes more affordable as it no longer needs to be conducted abroad.
