A Close Look at the Nusantara Explorer Train Facilities: A Moving Hotel Experience Between Bandung and Jakarta

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) conducted a trial run of the Nusantara Explorer on the Bandung-Jakarta route at the Bandung Train Depot, West Java, on Saturday (19/09/2026). This tourist train is designed to offer a travel experience that integrates comfort, high-quality service, and touches of Indonesian culture within a single journey.

The interior of the Nusantara Explorer’s cabins features beds and relaxation areas for passengers. The luxury sleeper train concept allows passengers to rest more comfortably during the trip.

Beyond mere transportation, the tourist train is designed to provide a complete holiday experience by combining comfort, service, culinary delights, and Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. The Grand Restaurant area within the Nusantara Explorer has been prepared as a dining space for passengers, making dining an integral part of the onboard travel experience.
