98 Resolution Network: Prabowo-Gibran administration aligns with reform mandate
Jakarta — The coordinator of the 98 Resolution Network, Haris Rusly Moti, fully supports the ideas and programmes of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which are seen as aligned with the 1998 reform mandate and the constitutional mandate. ‘We believe that the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s programme remains in line with the 1998 reform mandate and the constitutional mandate, the mandate of economic democratisation enshrined in the 1945 Constitution, particularly Article 33,’ Haris said at a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday. Haris also discussed Prabowo’s speech at the National Awakening Day commemorations on 20 May 2026 at the DPR RI and said the speech reflected a grand idea that transcends the political dynamics of the New Order and Reform eras. ‘The President’s speech on 20 May yesterday, in our view, is a tangible embodiment of Bung Hatta’s ’Indonesia Merdeka’ plea and Bung Karno’s ‘Indonesia Menggugat’ plea,’ he said. He said the group would continue to guard the President’s grand ideas at various levels, particularly in relation to economic democratisation and the realisation of equitable welfare for the people. ‘What we are saying today is a form of support; we are determined, committed to safeguarding, supporting and promoting the President’s grand ideas down to policy level,’ Haris said. Haris said that on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Reform, all Indonesians should return to the mandates of the country’s founders. ‘The Proclamation of Indonesian Independence on 17 August 1945 aimed to create a state that protects all Indonesians, that frees the people from poverty and ignorance in order to realise what the founders described as the mandate of the people’s suffering. The implementation of the reform mandate must be placed above the mandate and the basic consensus that gave birth to and liberated Indonesia,’ he added.
