98 Resolution Network: Government Not Anti-Criticism and Anti-Dialogue
Founder of the 98 Resolution Network, Haris Rusly Moti, expressed gratitude for President Prabowo Subianto’s approach in maintaining a conducive national situation. Haris revealed that President Prabowo and Gerindra’s Daily Chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, frequently invite dialogue with parties holding differing views from the government.
“Prof Dasco even often attends formal and informal discussion forums and directly listens to critical views from various groups across different spectrums. It is utterly unreasonable for any party to claim that the government is anti-criticism and anti-dialogue,” Haris stated in his remarks on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
According to Haris, neither Prabowo nor Dasco subscribe to the political doctrine of “divide et impera”, which pits society against itself horizontally to consolidate power. He admitted to frequently observing various criticisms directed at Prabowo.
“As supporters of the government, we observe and attempt to understand the criticisms levelled at President Prabowo. Some of them are still understandable as they pertain to corrections in the governance of government priority programmes, such as the management of the Free Nutritious Meals programme and several other initiatives deemed potential sources of new leakages that President Prabowo is currently eradicating,” he said.
In his view, several public criticisms have been heard and accommodated by the government; he cited as an example the criticism regarding the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. He stated that the government immediately addressed the public’s criticism.
“This is proof that President Prabowo does not turn a blind eye and deaf ear to criticism and corrections regarding the governance of the national nutrition equity programme through MBG,” Haris emphasised.
Haris noted that long-running public programmes such as BLT, rice social assistance, fertiliser subsidies, subsidised gas and diesel, still experience governance deviations. Moreover, he said, Prabowo’s newly initiated programmes.
“Moreover, programmes newly initiated by President Prabowo, which have only been running for just over a year, we certainly acknowledge are not yet perfect in their implementation and still require improvements at the governance level,” Haris explained.
Haris expressed gratitude for Prabowo’s leadership amid geopolitical shocks, stating that many countries worldwide are facing energy crises with people queuing for fuel. However, Indonesia remains secure to date.
“However, domestically, we give thanks to God; through President Prabowo’s hard work, he has successfully ensured a stable and affordable energy supply. There have indeed been shortages at some points for LPG gas, but these have been resolved. The government, through the Minister of Finance, has even assured no increases in subsidised fuel prices until the end of the year,” Haris said.
“We can imagine if fuel shortages occurred as in several countries; the impact could hinder food and essential goods distribution, etc. Hunger could afflict our people. Even those opposing the government would surely be affected by an energy crisis and food crisis; our children and families would also bear the impact. We pray to the Almighty God that such disasters do not befall our nation,” Haris continued.
Haris assessed that President Prabowo had anticipated geopolitical shocks impacting energy and food shortages. Therefore, several policies were enacted to shield the nation from energy and food crises.
“Even before the Iran versus Israel-America war erupted, President Prabowo had instructed to accelerate the food self-sufficiency programme. We can now stand tall without worries of rice shortages, thanks also to the government’s success in implementing the food self-sufficiency programme. We no longer rely on food imports when many countries worldwide are scrambling for food sources,” Haris stressed.
According to him, in facing such situations, what is needed is unity to maintain economic stability and ensure the supply of basic needs, so that the people are spared from hunger. He urged the public to preserve this condition.
“Stability should not be perceived merely in terms of politics and security. We can imagine if the economic situation were unstable, with uncontrolled prices for necessities, many factories could close, leading to layoffs that harm workers. UMKM actors would also be unable to trade due to unaffordable raw material prices,” Haris explained.
“Therefore, without disregarding the freedom of every citizen to associate and express opinions as guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution, we still urge prioritising the common interest as fellow children of the nation. We should be able to struggle together to survive together in facing geopolitical destabilisation and the threat of world war,” Haris said.
He stated that Indonesia currently needs unity and cooperation not to protect power. But, he continued, to safeguard our nation and state from economic and political calamities and disasters that could threaten the safety of the people and the nation’s survival in the face of geopolitical situations.
Haris also reminded all stakeholders, including civil servants, TNI, and Police, not to misuse President Prabowo’s good intentions. He claimed he would monitor and support the government.
“We, as volunteers and supporters of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, will take responsibility for monitoring, strengthening, and ensuring that President Prabowo’s priority programmes are implemented with good governance that prevents leakages currently being combated by President Prabowo. For that reason, we appreciate corrective support from various parties so that these programmes run and provide maximum benefits to the people,” Haris said.
