98,000 teachers sit professional certification exam in Ministry of Religious Affairs' PPG Batch 4
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 98,036 teachers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs sat the Knowledge Examination for Professional Teacher Education (PPG) Batch 4, as part of the ministry’s commitment to improving the quality and professionalism of educators within its purview.
The programme is aligned with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita agenda, which emphasises the development of superior and competitive human resources, reinforced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Asta Protas commitment.
“Teaching is a noble calling, and its dignity must be preserved. From the hands of teachers, future generations of the nation are born,” said Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
The PPG Knowledge Examination was held over two days, 21-22 February 2026, across 15 Teacher Training Institutions (LPTK) serving as examination centres. A total of 2,454 supervisors were deployed to ensure the examinations proceeded in accordance with regulations and quality standards.
The Knowledge Examination represents the final stage in the PPG programme. Together with the Performance Assessment, the results will determine whether PPG participants pass and form the basis for issuing educator certificates.
Through this mechanism, the Ministry of Religious Affairs ensures that teachers who are declared to have passed genuinely meet pedagogical, professional, social and personal competency standards.
Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Amien Suyitno, stated that the Knowledge Examination and Performance Assessment were conducted in an objective and accountable manner.
“We want to ensure that every teacher who passes is truly competent and ready to provide the best educational services for students. I hope participants continue to enhance their capabilities for the advancement of religious education across all educational institutions,” Suyitno said.
Upon passing the PPG and obtaining an educator certificate, participants will receive a teacher professional allowance (TPG). For civil servant teachers, the allowance is equivalent to one month’s basic salary, whilst for non-civil servant teachers it amounts to Rp2,000,000 per month in accordance with prevailing regulations.
This step, Suyitno said, serves as tangible proof of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ commitment to improving competency whilst ensuring teachers’ welfare is guaranteed.
