97 KDMP Outlets in Wonogiri Remain Closed Despite Presidential Launch
Ninety-seven Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDMP) outlets in Wonogiri Regency remained non-operational as of Friday, 29 May, despite being launched by President Prabowo Subianto on 16 May 2026. These outlets form part of 1,061 KDMP units officially launched nationwide. However, more than two weeks after the inauguration, all Wonogiri outlets remain closed and have yet to serve the public. One non-operational outlet is KDMP Sidowayah in Selogiri District, which previously hosted Wonogiri officials for a virtual inauguration ceremony centred in Nganjuk, East Java. On-site monitoring revealed the outlets remain empty with no service or transaction activities. Local residents noted recent stock organisation inside the outlets but no shopping yet. “Staff have been arranging goods inside recently, but it’s still not open,” said a resident who wished to remain anonymous. Similar conditions were observed at other KDMP outlets in Pare Village, Wonogiri Kota District, and Manyaran District. Residents reported that despite goods being delivered and displayed, the outlets have yet to serve customers. “Not open yet, but there was recent unloading of goods,” said a resident of Pare Village. Others speculated that KDMP operations are pending Agrinas’ recruitment and management process. “They might be waiting for Agrinas’ recruitment results, which are said to manage operations for the next two years,” said a Wonogiri Kota resident. NOT READY Meanwhile, Wonogiri’s Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Head, Wahyu Widayati, stated the non-operation of KDMP is due to unprepared infrastructure and facilities. She said a coordination meeting with KDMP’s Business Assistant (BA) and Project Management Officer (PMO) on Tuesday, 26 May, highlighted numerous pending tasks. “The coordination meeting revealed many tasks to complete, including infrastructure and recruitment training,” Wahyu said. She explained ongoing challenges include organising goods from Agrinas, online KDMP staff training, and cash register app usage. “The cash register system is new and still in training phase,” she added. Additionally, Wahyu noted cooperative managers are still learning ordering procedures and defective goods return protocols. Therefore, Wonogiri’s Trade and SMEs Department has requested BA to assist cooperative managers in inventory recording to ensure orderly administration from the start. “Goods should be checked together, recorded, and signed by both sender and receiver. Documentation must begin immediately,” Wahyu concluded.
