97,122 Teachers at Ministry of Religious Affairs Pass Certification Cohort IV 2025
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that 97,122 teachers under the Ministry have passed teacher certification this year. These are participants in the fourth cohort of teacher certification, a process that has been ongoing since 2025.
The Director-General of Islamic Education, Amien Suyitno, stated that the certified teachers bring the total number of Ministry of Religious Affairs teachers who have passed certification across cohorts 1-3 to 304,661 in 2025.
The National Committee for Teacher Professional Education (PPG) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, headed by the Director of Islamic Religious Education Muhammad Munir, added that teacher certification is part of the government’s effort to improve standardised professional competence amongst teachers. Additionally, teacher certification represents appropriate recognition for teachers’ dedication to advancing national education.
“With certified status, teachers are entitled to receive teacher professional allowances in accordance with regulations,” Munir stated in an official statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
The 97,122 teachers who passed certification in 2026 are distributed across 31 fields of study, ranging from teachers of Islamic religious education in schools, madrasah teachers teaching both religious and general subjects, to teachers of Catholic, Christian, and Confucian religions.
According to Munir, this achievement is the result of hard work from various parties, including technical units at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, higher education institutions operating teacher professional education programmes, and the teachers themselves.
