936 Combined Personnel Deployed to Secure Three Demonstrations in Central Jakarta Today

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Hundreds of combined personnel have been deployed to secure three demonstrations taking place in Central Jakarta on Saturday (7 March 2026). Public Relations Head of the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, said the hundreds of personnel are a combined force from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, and the Polsek ranks. ‘A total of 936 combined personnel were deployed to secure the protest actions in the Central Jakarta area today,’ Erlyn said in a statement received by Kompas.com on Saturday. Erlyn explained security operations began with a Tactical Wall Game (TWG) exercise and a security roll-call in the morning. The activity was conducted to anticipate demonstrations by the Forum Komunikasi Mushollah dan Masjid Indonesia together with several mass elements planned to take place in the Gambir area. ‘At 07:00 WIB, TWG and the security roll-call were carried out,’ Erlyn said. On the other hand, a poster inviting people to attend a solidarity action for Palestine, scheduled to take place at Silang Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday at 15:00 WIB, was circulating. In the poster, crowds were invited to attend an event titled ‘Indonesia Together for Palestine’s Independence’ with a gathering point in the Monas area.
