93,209 passengers use train services during long weekend holiday
Jember, East Java - A total of 93,209 passengers used train services during the long weekend holiday from May 29 to June 1, 2026, coinciding with Waisak and Pancasila’s Birthday holidays. ‘Over the four days, we served 93,209 passengers, comprising 47,264 departing from PT KAI (Persero) Operational Region 9 stations and 45,945 arriving from various stations,’ said PT KAI (Persero) Operational Region 9 Jember Legal and Public Relations Manager Cahyo Widiantoro on Monday. As the long weekend holiday concluded, passenger mobility using train services in PT KAI (Persero) Operational Region 9 Jember remained high. ‘A total of 23,333 passengers crowded stations in the Operational Region 9 Jember area, with 12,276 departing and 11,057 alighting,’ he added. According to him, the high passenger mobility during the long weekend indicates growing public trust in train transportation. ‘During this long weekend period, the public continues to choose trains as their primary travel option due to their comfort, safety, and punctuality. We appreciate all passengers for their loyalty in choosing train transport,’ he said. ‘We extend our appreciation and thanks to all passengers for the continued trust in using train transportation,’ he added. Cahyo explained that passenger support and loyalty motivate KAI to continuously improve service quality, ensuring safe, comfortable, and punctual journeys, and delivering memorable travel experiences for the public.
