93,000 Passengers Depart via Soetta Airport Today Ahead of Eid Celebrations
Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang was crowded with passengers ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations in 1447 H. The number of passengers flying via Soetta on this day reached 93,998 people.
“For the percentage of flight plans on 16 March 2026 at Soetta Airport, there are 167,602 passengers. This data comprises 93,998 departing passengers and 73,604 arriving passengers,” said General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Heru Karyadi in Tangerang, as reported by news agency Antara on Monday (16/3/2026).
Heru explained that there were 312 flights with 48,128 passengers travelling through Terminal 1 of Soetta Airport. This was based on daily flight plan data during the Eid holiday travel period.
Meanwhile, there were 46,384 passengers with 352 domestic flights and 13,413 passengers with 93 flights through Terminal 2 of Soetta Airport. Subsequently, at Terminal 3 of Soetta Airport, there were 30,931 passengers with 235 domestic flights and 28,746 passengers with 154 flights.
“So, in total there are 582 departing flights and 579 arriving flights, bringing the total planned flights during this holiday travel period to 1,161 flights,” he said.
On the same occasion, Assistant Deputy Communication & Legal of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Yudistiawan, added that passenger and flight traffic from 13 to 15 March 2026 during the Eid holiday travel period experienced quite significant growth. The data increased compared to the previous year.
In detail, there were 3,455 aircraft movements, both domestic and international, with an increase of 8.6 per cent compared to the previous year which only reached 3,182 aircraft movements. For passenger traffic movement, there were 519,719 people, or an increase of 16.6 per cent compared to the previous period which only reached 445,542 passengers.
“For cargo traffic during the period of 13 to 15 March, there was 5,804.6 tonnes or 14.7 per cent. This figure showed a decline compared to the previous figures during the same period, which was 6,808.4 tonnes,” he said.
