Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 915 passengers have arrived at Lebak Bulus Terminal in Pondok Pinang Ward, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta, using 145 inter-provincial intercity (AKAP) buses up to the fourth day (H+4) of Eid.

“Hundreds of passengers who have arrived in Jakarta via Lebak Bulus Terminal represent the cumulative total from H+1 to H+4 of Eid,” said the Head of Lebak Bulus Terminal, Joni Budhi, in Jakarta on Thursday.

From that cumulative figure, the highest number of arrivals occurred on Wednesday (25/3) with 585 passengers using 45 AKAP buses.

He predicts that the peak of the Eid return flow at Lebak Bulus Terminal will occur on Saturday (28/3) and Sunday (29/3). This is because from H+1 to H+4 of Eid, many travellers are still departing for their hometowns. A total of 1,248 travellers left Jakarta using 145 AKAP buses.

“Every year, departures continue to dominate compared to returns. We believe this is because of the late-night or early-morning arrival times. As a result, they choose to alight at the nearest integrated transport hub,” Joni said.

Although conditions remain steady so far, his team, along with health personnel, vehicle fitness inspectors (ramp checks), and others, continue to provide the best services for travellers.

“Staff at the posts are always on standby. Bus inspections to ensure traveller safety are also conducted routinely. We hope this will run smoothly until the end of the Eid transport period,” he said.

Meanwhile, one AKAP bus user, Rizky Permana, said he had just returned from his hometown in Jambi because he could only travel back on H-2 of Eid and delayed his return to Jakarta.

“Yesterday there were some matters, so the return was a bit late, and we’re also taking longer to come back because school holidays are still ongoing. The services here are quite good,” he said.
