90 thugs nabbed in Pekanbaru

PEKANBARU, Riau: Police arrested some 90 thugs during a raid on Tuesday held in several crime-infested areas in Pekanbaru city, including in Palas Rumbai area, Mayang Terurai bus terminal and Senapelan market.

The mass raid was held following several bomb hoaxes in the city recently. The raid was also aimed at bringing down the crime rate in the city, said Pekanbaru Police chief, Sr. Comr. Suro Jauhari. -- JP
