Bandung City Police recorded 90,000 vehicles entering the city ahead of the long weekend, which coincides with Waisak Day (2570 Buddhist Era) on 31 May and Pancasila Day on 1 June 2026, causing traffic congestion at multiple points.

Bandung City Police Traffic Chief AKBP Hudi Arif stated: “Approximately 90,000 vehicles, including two- and four-wheelers, have entered Bandung today, while around 60,000 have departed.”

He noted that traffic congestion typically occurs at Bandung’s toll gate entrances and exits. “Key congestion points include Pasteur, Buahbatu, Moh Toha, and Summarecon toll gates,” he added.

Arif said traffic is also expected to increase in shopping centres and tourist routes. Police have deployed personnel at various locations to manage the flow.

“For other points such as major malls, tourist routes, Ledeng traffic lights intersection, and Dago area, we have stationed officers,” he said.

He predicted vehicle volume would rise until Sunday (31 May), urging the public to plan travel times and adhere to traffic regulations.

“We also advise the public to follow traffic rules and prioritise road safety while driving,” Arif added.
