89.2 Percent of Fintech Lending Flows to Productive Sector
PT Mekar Investama Teknologi (Mekar) has recorded that 89.20 percent of its total financing was channelled to productive loans, with more than 133,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) receiving funding support. This performance led the company to win the Infobank Financial Technology Award 2026 for The Excellent Performance Financial Technology Company 2026 in the asset class below IDR 100 billion.
Chief Executive Officer of Mekar, Pandu Aditya Kristy, stated that the company is not only pursuing business growth but also striving to expand funding access for business actors and the productive sector. “This award is both an appreciation and a reflection on Mekar’s journey in the fintech industry. For us, the challenge is not just how to grow bigger, but how to continue expanding financing access and creating a real impact for the productive sector in Indonesia,” Pandu said in Jakarta.
He noted that of the more than 133,000 MSMEs that have obtained financing through Mekar, 75.3 percent of the borrowers are women. This composition demonstrates the significant involvement of women entrepreneurs in the productive financing distributed by the company. Mekar began focusing as a financial technology company in 2016 and has developed into a peer-to-peer lending fintech providing financing for MSMEs and productive business actors.
In its development, Mekar’s business no longer solely targets financing through the fintech platform. Through the Mekar Ecosystem, the company has expanded its activities into several real sectors, including trade financing through operational cooperation schemes, agriculture, and waste-to-energy projects. In the agricultural sector, the ecosystem has optimised more than 382 hectares of land, including previously unused land, and built partnerships with 519 farmers. This expansion is part of the company’s effort to link financing with real economic activity, so that the funds channelled can drive business and production activities.
The Infobank Financial Technology Award 2026 was presented during the Leadership Mastery Forum 2026 series held by Infobank Media Group at The St. Regis Jakarta. The award was received by Mekar CEO Pandu Aditya Kristy alongside COO Mahwi Winarto. It marks the fourth accolade received by Mekar throughout 2026.
