863 Akabri cadets to be inducted

MAGELANG, Central Java: Some 863 new cadets of the Indonesian
Armed Forces Academy (Akabri) will be inducted by Defense
Minister and Armed Forces Chief Gen Wiranto here Saturday.

The cadets have just completed a 13-week basic military
training course and will be given the rank of cadet corporal, the
academy's spokesman, Lt. Col. Heru Kartono, was quoted by Antara
as saying on Thursday.

He said the 863 cadets have trained both at the academy's
training ground as well as in other regions.
