National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the President has ordered the police to thoroughly investigate the acid attack on Kontras activist. Currently, investigators are delving into dozens of surveillance camera recordings that have been collected.

“Yesterday, the President clearly ordered us to get to the bottom of it, and of course, the police are working on it now,” said the Police Chief at Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday (18/3).

He revealed that 86 CCTV recordings have been collected and presented in the investigation process. All of these recordings are now being analysed to uncover the incident comprehensively.

“Yesterday, 86 CCTV footages were displayed, and currently, they are being further examined. Clearly, we won’t stop there,” he said.

In addition to CCTV, the police are also continuing to gather various other pieces of evidence to strengthen the case disclosure.

“However, we are also seeking sources of information, other evidence, other material evidence, and then we will put it all together to truly uncover this case, or at least make it crystal clear,” explained the Police Chief.

From preliminary investigation results, the police have obtained the identities of two suspected perpetrators with initials BHC and MAK. Nevertheless, the number of perpetrators is believed to be more than four people. The police continue to delve into the sequence of events by analysing CCTV recordings at several points and gathering witness statements to uncover all involved parties.
