Banten Regional Tax Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), along with 12 local tax offices, has blocked the accounts of 84 taxpayers with outstanding tax payments. The account freezes took place between 18 and 22 May 2026. The total tax arrears from these 84 taxpayers amounted to over Rp330.6 billion.

A post on the @pajakDJPBanten account stated: “Simultaneous blocking was carried out against 84 taxpayers across 15 banks with total tax arrears of Rp330,664,197,474” on 28 May 2026.

Inge told Kompas.com on 29 May 2026: “This action was carried out professionally, measured, and in accordance with applicable regulations, particularly Minister of Finance Regulation No. 61 of 2023 on Tax Collection Procedures.”

Inge explained that the account blocking was to recover unpaid taxes after the due date. The tax debt includes the principal amount plus administrative penalties such as interest, fines, or surcharges. According to Inge, account blocking is not the first step; it is a subsequent phase in the collection process for taxpayers who have not fulfilled their obligations. The DJP, Inge added, is committed to improving voluntary tax compliance. “Tax compliance is a tangible contribution from the entire community in supporting national development,” Inge stressed.
