Approximately 833 hectares of social forestry land has been distributed by the Ministry of Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni to four Forest Farmer Groups (KTH). The Social Forestry Decree (SK) has been allocated to a total of 140 heads of household in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) region, East Kalimantan.

The handover of the Social Forestry Decree took place at IKN as part of the government’s commitment to strengthen forest management access for communities. Minister Raja Juli Antoni conveyed greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to the Forest Farmer Groups.

“Respectful greetings to the forest farmer groups from President Prabowo Subianto. I reaffirm that this is the President’s flagship programme, whereby forests as natural resources are maximised for community welfare,” stated Minister Raja Juli Antoni in an official statement on Saturday (28/2).

The four KTH recipients of the decree are KTH Meranti Bakungan Makmur, KTH Sentosa Rimba, KTH Quarry, and KTH Perjuangan Penjaga Hutan Teluk Pandan. Minister Raja Juli Antoni stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship programme provides legal certainty for communities in utilising forest areas productively and sustainably.

“Together, we are handing over social forestry decree certificates to these 4 KTH as part of 8.3 million social forestry certificates already distributed to communities,” explained Raja Antoni.

“Many matters remain to be completed, including ensuring legal certainty for communities so they can utilise forests to the maximum to improve their welfare whilst, of course, preserving forest sustainability,” he elaborated.

Raja Antoni, who previously served as Deputy Head of the IKN Authority, considered this decree handover special because it was held at IKN. He valued IKN as a dream capital city receiving direct support from President Prabowo Subianto.

“The event is special because it is held at IKN, a location that is truly a dream, aspiration and manifestation of the great desire of the Indonesian people to have a new capital city, Nusantara Capital City. Alhamdulillah, we see very strong political support from President Prabowo Subianto. This is a very special social forestry certificate distribution because it is held at IKN,” he said.

Also present at the event were IKN Authority Head Basuki Hadimuljono and East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas’ud. Together with Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister Raja Juli Antoni also planted trees and inspected the results of the second phase of Forest and Land Rehabilitation (RHL) maintenance at IKN.
