81st Indonesian Independence Day: MIND ID Distributes Support from Sumatra to Sulawesi
The spirit of the veterans’ struggle remains a vital part of the nation’s journey 81 years after Indonesia’s independence. The freedom enjoyed by the Indonesian people today was born from the sacrifice, courage, and devotion of heroes who defended the sovereignty and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
On this basis, the Indonesian Mining Industry Holding Company, MIND ID, along with all Group members, has extended support to the Legion of Indonesian Veterans (LVRI), veteran widows, and warakawuri (widows of fallen soldiers) across various regions, ranging from North Sumatra, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, to South Sulawesi.
In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, MIND ID provided support in the form of thousands of basic necessity packages as well as mobility support tools for veterans, such as wheelchairs and walking sticks. The symbolic handover was conducted by the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Transformation of MIND ID, Pambudi Soenarsihanto, to representatives of the Regional Leadership Council of LVRI DKI Jakarta on Friday (28/8/2026).
Pambudi stated that the independence commemoration serves as an appropriate momentum to remember and honour the heroes who laid the foundation for Indonesia’s establishment as a free and sovereign nation.
“The fighting spirit of the veterans is a precious heritage for the Indonesian nation. MIND ID, together with all Group members, wishes to ensure that these values of struggle continue to live and serve as an inspiration for future generations in maintaining unity, strengthening national independence, and filling independence with real contributions to Indonesia,” he said in a written statement on Sunday (30/8/2026).
He added that honouring veterans cannot be achieved through social care alone, but also through a commitment to upholding the values of unity, devotion, and patriotism inherited from the nation’s fighters.
“This is a concrete step by the people of MIND ID, as the next generation, to appreciate the services of the veterans. We hope that the spirit of struggle they have passed down can continue to live and serve as a reminder that independence must be filled with work, devotion, and unity,” Pambudi expressed.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the DPD LVRI DKI Jakarta, Marsda TNI (Ret.) Sri Budjono, expressed appreciation for the attention and support provided by MIND ID and its Group members to veterans and their families.
“Attention such as this serves as a reminder that the nation’s fighting spirit must continue to be passed down and realised through real contributions to building Indonesia,” said Sri Budjono.
For MIND ID, the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is not only a momentum to remember the nation’s history of struggle, but also an opportunity to reaffirm the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation (gotong royong) inherited from the fighters. These values are believed to be an important foundation in realising an Indonesia that is increasingly sovereign, just, and prosperous.
