81st Indonesian Independence Day: Lanal Banten unfurls giant Red and White flag at sea

In order to welcome the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the Banten Naval Base (Lanal Banten), together with a number of parties, on Saturday (15/8), carried out the transplantation of 500 coral reefs, the release of 25 turtle hatchlings, and the unfurling of a giant Red and White flag in the waters of Merak Besar Island, Cilegon City, Banten. The coral transplantation and turtle hatchling release activities were carried out to encourage the public to preserve the marine ecosystem, while the unfurling of the 40 by 25 metre flag was carried out as a symbol affirming that the sea is an inseparable part of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
