80th Bhayangkara Anniversary Commemorated Across Indonesia
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) commemorated its 80th Bhayangkara anniversary on Wednesday with a series of events held across various regions. The central ceremony took place at the Brimob (Mobile Brigade Corps) Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, and was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, who greeted residents and students at the venue’s entrance. The anniversary, themed ‘80 Years of Service, Polri for the People’, was designed as a moment of reflection and to strengthen the force’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its service, protection, guardianship, and fair law enforcement for all Indonesians. The event featured a formal ceremony, a parade, the awarding of honours, a defile, and an exhibition of domestically produced primary and special equipment. Brimob personnel also conducted arrest simulations. In Denpasar, Bali, the regional police held a commemoration involving thousands of personnel, members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and the public, featuring martial arts demonstrations. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police in Palangka Raya celebrated with a colossal dance performance and a rifle display, while in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, personnel from the Directorate of Samapta performed a brick-breaking attraction.
