An elderly man identified by the initials SS, aged 80, who is accused of raping two first-grade primary school pupils aged six in Sano Nggoang District, Manggarai Barat, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), suddenly fell ill and nearly fainted during questioning by police. The examination was conducted by the Manggarai Barat Resort Police (Polres Manggarai Barat).

“In the first interview, after only six questions he became ill. He nearly fainted. He almost fell off his chair,” said AKP Lufthi Darmawan Aditya, head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasatreskrim) of the Manggarai Barat Police Resort, on Friday (6 March 2026).

Investigators from the Manggarai Barat Criminal Investigation Unit also questioned SS at his home on 3 and 4 March 2026. SS was examined lying down at the time.

“His health is not good. The first examination at the police station, but after only six questions he felt dizzy. The second examination at home, but while lying down,” Lufthi explained.

Lufthi cannot yet disclose the results of SS’s examination. Police are completing other evidentiary material.
