8 Valuable Messages in the Age of Widespread Tribulation and End-Time Chaos

The era in which we now live is a time when various kinds of slander are increasingly widespread. Various trials, chaos, disputes, and matters that can shake one’s faith emerge one after another.

Conditions like this serve as a warning for every Muslim to be increasingly careful in safeguarding their religion and not to be easily swept away by the tide of slander.

Prophet Muhammad SAW has reminded his ummah about the severity of slander. From Abu Hurairah RA, the Prophet SAW said:

بادروا بالأعمال فِتنًا كقطع الليل المظلم، يُصبحُ الرجلُ مؤمنًا، ويُمسي كافرًا، ويُمسي مؤمنًا ويصبح كافرًا، يبيعُ دينَه بعرضٍ من الدنيا

“Hasten to perform righteous deeds before the coming of various slanders that are like pieces of a pitch-dark night. A person may be a believer in the morning but become a disbeliever by evening. In the evening he may still be a believer, but by morning he becomes a disbeliever. He sells his religion for the sake of worldly pleasure.” (Narrated by Muslim).

This hadith illustrates how quickly slander can affect a person. Therefore, a Muslim must not feel safe from trials.

When slander spreads, there are several important messages that need to be upheld in order to remain on the path of Allah SWT, namely as follows:

First, seek refuge in Allah from various slanders.

The first step is to constantly seek protection from Allah from slander, both the visible and the hidden. The Prophet SAW said:
