8 Trains Cancelled, Gambir Station Crowded with Passengers Seeking Ticket Refunds
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The atmosphere in the customer service area at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, was still filled with passengers seeking to process ticket refunds on Wednesday (29/4/2026). As it approached 1:00 PM WIB, the queue number for passengers handling refunds had exceeded 130. They crowded the seating inside the customer service room. More than five people could be seen sitting on the waiting chairs right in front of the customer service room. The passengers sitting in front of the room appeared to be waiting for their queue numbers to be called. The passengers were requesting refunds because their trains were cancelled for that Wednesday. According to data from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta, three long-distance train departures from Gambir Station were cancelled on Wednesday. The cancellations were due to ongoing handling on the affected rail tracks from the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. Meanwhile, in another part of Gambir Station, namely the departure terminal waiting room, the queue at the long-distance train ticket purchase counters was still quite busy. Although not as long as two metres like the previous day, Tuesday (28/4/2026), prospective passengers were seen coming and going to buy tickets directly or go show. If on Tuesday many passengers did not get seats in the waiting area, on Wednesday some seats appeared empty. Meanwhile, since the morning, announcements of delays in long-distance train departures were repeatedly conveyed through the public address system. Some of the trains announced as delayed were the KA Argo Merbabu bound for Semarang Tawang and the KA Argo Lawu bound for Solo Balapan.
