8 Platforms Already Compliant with PP Tunas, Next Steps for Komdigi
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - One month after the implementation of PP Tunas on 28 March 2026, eight platforms have complied with the rules restricting accounts for those aged 16 and under. The Ministry of Digital Communication (Komdigi) assures that the regulations will continue to be applied to all platforms operating in Indonesia.
The eight platforms in the initial phase of the rules and classified as high-risk are Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bigo Live, YouTube, TikTok, and Roblox.
“But we will not stop at these 8 platforms. Because in the digital realm, if we focus on or intervene in 1-2, they will simply move to others,” said Komdigi Minister Meutya Hafid during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (30/4/2026).
Meutya stated that all platforms must conduct a self-assessment. They have been given until June to meet the requirements.
“Therefore, in the name of fair regulation, this will apply to everyone. And we have already given time; we also remind in this forum that until June is the period for platforms to conduct self-assessments. So once again, until June, fellow platforms have time to perform self-assessments,” she explained.
In addition, Komdigi will conduct in-depth reviews and supervision of the implementation for all eight platforms in the initial phase.
Roblox was the last to comply with the PP Tunas rules among all platforms in the initial phase. The compliance measures differ from social media platforms; the gaming app will not block all accounts for children under 16.
The app will close access to chat features and differentiate games based on age. Users must also verify their age using facial recognition.
“This includes the possibility that someone over 16 who does not perform facial verification will have their communication features automatically disabled, as well as restrictions on games to those suitable for young children,” said Meutya.
