8.5 Million Taxpayers Have Filed Annual Tax Returns via Coretax
The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance reports that as of Tuesday, 17 March 2026, 8.5 million taxpayers have submitted their Annual Tax Notification (SPT) for income tax (PPh) for the 2025 tax year. This figure represents about 55.66% of the reporting target of 15.27 million.
“The progress of annual PPh SPT reporting for the period up to 17 March 2026 (Tax Year 2025) recorded 8,587,456 SPTs,” as quoted from the official DJP statement on Wednesday, 18 March 2025.
The number consists of reports from individual employee taxpayers: 7,594,410; non-employee: 813,247; business entity taxpayers in rupiah: 178,141; business entity taxpayers in dollars: 137; and business entities with different fiscal years: 1,521. Meanwhile, Coretax DJP account activations have reached 16,592,948.
The deadline for individual taxpayer SPT reporting is 31 March, while for business entities it is 30 April. DJP targets 15.27 million reports to be received by those deadlines.
The SPT reporting deadline is regulated under Law No. 28 of 2007 on General Provisions and Tax Procedures. Based on the law, failure to submit the SPT within the specified time incurs administrative sanctions in the form of a fine of Rp100,000 for individual taxpayers and Rp1 million for business entities.
Previously, Director of Counselling, Services, and Public Relations Inge Diana Rismawanti stated that since it is regulated by law, all taxpayers must comply by reporting on time. “So ensure that taxpayers report their SPT according to the specified deadline to avoid sanctions,” she said.
DJP facilitates ease through guidance and services at offices open on Saturdays and Sundays. However, Inge advised that to avoid rushing, taxpayers should complete their SPT reporting before the Eid holidays.
