PURWAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Hundreds of thousands of vehicles are expected to enter Bandung and its surrounding areas via the Cipularang Toll Road during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus period.

Senior Manager of Representative Office 3 at Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad, Agni Mayvinna, stated that vehicle volume is anticipated to increase compared to normal conditions and the previous year’s Eid period.

“For the Cipularang and Padaleunyi sections, as previously mentioned, we predict an increase compared to normal or the 2025 Eid,” Agni told the Merapah Trans-Jawa 2026 team at Rest Area KM 88A on Monday (16/03/2026).

Agni explained that vehicle volume calculations were conducted at the Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate, the main entry point for vehicles from Jakarta heading to Bandung, Purwakarta, and nearby areas.

“This totals approximately 786,000 vehicles from H-10 to H+10, an increase of 15.8% from normal or 3.3% compared to last year’s Eid,” she said.

In addition to the outbound exodus, an increase is also expected during the return period after Eid.

She added that the national peak outbound traffic is projected for 18 March 2026, while the peak return is expected on 24 March 2026.

“For our preparations, since the trend is vehicles heading to Bandung, we are anticipating volumes and traffic for social visits. Not just on peak dates, but throughout the Eid period, our field officers will remain on standby,” she said.

To address the vehicle surge, Jasamarga has prepared several operational strategies, from transaction services to traffic management.

Agni stated that one measure is ensuring optimal capacity ratios for transaction services at toll gates.

Additionally, they have implemented other steps such as traffic services, road maintenance, and readiness of rest area facilities.

On that occasion, Agni also advised Eid travellers to prepare their physical condition, vehicles, and e-toll balance before the journey.

She also reminded travellers to ensure sufficient toll card balance before entering the toll road.

“Prepare your e-toll balance, ladies and gentlemen. Please check via our Travoy app for complete details on the fares that road users must pay to traverse our toll roads,” Agni said.
