78 hoodlums netted in raid

JAKARTA (JP): Police have netted 78 hoodlums in various places in Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira said that the raid, which started at 9 p.m on Monday, also netted six drunkards and three gamblers. The raid ended at 4 a.m. yesterday.

"We seized six machetes," Abubakar said yesterday.

He said that 10 male prostitutes were netted on Jl. Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

Abubakar promised to continue the raid against hoodlums and other lawbreakers. (jun)
