760 Combined Personnel Deployed to Secure Takbiran Night in West Jakarta

Some 760 personnel from the combined forces of the TNI-Polri and the Jakarta Barat Administrative City Government have been deployed for the security of Takbiran night,” said the Chief of Metro Jakarta Barat Police, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, while leading the Takbiran readiness roll call on Friday afternoon. Twedi stated that the hundreds of personnel would be distributed to 209 security points in the West Jakarta area, particularly at potential congestion spots and areas of public gatherings such as shopping centres and tourist areas. “They will be divided into 209 points later to carry out security for Takbiran night tonight,” he said. Twedi also urged the public to carry out Takbiran at the nearest mosque to avoid potential friction on the roads. At the same location, the Commander of Kodim 0503 Jakarta Barat, Kolonel Kav Sigit Dharma Wiryawan, also requested public cooperation in maintaining the conduciveness of Takbiran night. “We urge that the community together with us secure this situation, this situation which is already quite conducive, so that tomorrow everyone celebrating feels happy,” said Sigit. He also advised the public to ensure home security before departing for the holiday. “For houses that are left empty, especially, unplug the electricity and so on, stop the plugs to avoid fire hazards,” he said.
