730,000 Train Tickets Sold for 2026 Lebaran Travel Period
Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta has recorded 734,293 long-distance train tickets sold for the period 11 March to 1 April 2026, corresponding to the 2026 Lebaran travel period.
“This demonstrates the strong interest from the public in using railway transport during the Lebaran period,” said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated that for local trains, specifically the Pangrango service, the occupancy rate reached 75 per cent with a total of 60,716 tickets sold from a capacity of 80,960 seats during the Lebaran travel period.
Meanwhile, the total number of passengers departing from the Jakarta Daerah Operasi 1 area reached 353,881 people during the period 11-17 March 2026. The number of arriving passengers reached 163,582.
“Specifically for long-distance trains, the number of passengers departing today reached 51,561 passengers,” said Franoto.
Based on data per station, passenger departures were dominated by Pasar Senen Station with 24,536 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 17,736 passengers.
“Other stations such as Bekasi, Cikampek, Cikarang, Jatinegara and Karawang also recorded relatively high passenger movement,” said Franoto.
For the Pangrango train, today’s service carried 3,368 passengers, with a cumulative total of 22,853 passengers since 11 March.
The Siliwangi train recorded 8,493 ticket sales from a total capacity of 41,976 seats. Today, the Siliwangi train carried 740 passengers with a cumulative total of 6,551 passengers.
PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta urged the public intending to travel during the Lebaran travel period to plan their journeys well, arrive early at stations and ensure their tickets and identification documents are in order before departure.
