7,000 houses to be built for civil servants

SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: The Samarinda municipal government is to build 7,000 subsidized houses over the next three years for civil servants in the regency.

Some 1,000 units will be completed this year.

Samarinda Civil Servants' Corps secretary Rusdi said 2,500 units would be built in 2005, 2,500 units in 2006 and the remaining 1,000 units in 2007.

The municipal government is to provide a part of the housing construction funds. -- Antara
