70 Personnel Deployed to Strengthen Electricity Network in Gunungkidul Ahead of Independence Day
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Yogyakarta is continuing to strengthen the reliability of electricity supply ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia through the Super Kips Tawon programme, carried out by the Yogyakarta and Wonosari Customer Service Implementation Units (UP3) in Padukuhan Girijati, Purwosari District, Gunungkidul Regency.
The integrated maintenance activity involved 70 PLN personnel and working partners from PT RCE, PT AJS, PT ES, PT Novita Persada (NVP), and PT GCE. All personnel were deployed to complete various network maintenance tasks simultaneously as a preventive measure to maintain continuity of electricity supply to the public.
Super Kips Tawon is an acronym for Strategi Utama Peningkatan Reliabilitas Jaringan, Kolaborasi Inspeksi Pengamanan Right of Way (ROW) Sempurna Berkontribusi. The programme integrates various maintenance tasks into a single operation so that potential disruptions can be addressed comprehensively and network reliability is further improved.
During the activity, PLN replaced one Load Break Switch (LBS), pruned and felled trees at 23 locations, secured the right-of-way (ROW) along six kilometres of circuit, installed network protection at 115 points, maintained one Exim meter point, repaired two leaning electricity poles, and improved distribution network construction.
General Manager of PLN UID Yogyakarta, Deri Prasetio Utomo, said PLN continues to strengthen the reliability of the electricity distribution system through sustainable infrastructure maintenance as part of the company’s commitment to delivering reliable electricity services to the public.
“Electricity reliability is the main foundation that supports public activities, public services, and economic growth. Therefore, PLN consistently strengthens infrastructure and carries out sustainable network maintenance so that potential disruptions can be minimised. Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, we are committed to ensuring that electricity supply remains safe and reliable, so that the public can carry out various activities and the series of independence celebrations comfortably,” said Deri.
Meanwhile, Manager of PLN UP3 Yogyakarta, Agung Pratomo, said integrated maintenance allows various potential disruptions to be addressed comprehensively in a single operation, thereby increasing work effectiveness.
“Through Super Kips Tawon, we ensure that all maintenance work can be completed thoroughly. From pruning trees that could potentially touch the network, inspecting equipment, to improving construction, everything is carried out in an integrated manner so that the reliability of the electricity distribution system is further improved,” said Agung.
The effort received appreciation from the public. A resident of Padukuhan Girijati, Sumilah, said that pruning trees around the electricity network greatly helps reduce the potential for outages during windy weather.
“Previously the electricity often went out because trees hit the network, so it is indeed best that trees with the potential to cause disruption are pruned immediately. A programme like this is very good and I hope it continues to be carried out regularly so that electricity remains reliable,” she said.
Through regularly scheduled network maintenance, PLN UID Yogyakarta continues to strengthen the reliability of the electricity distribution system across its entire service area. These preventive measures are part of PLN’s commitment to delivering reliable, safe, and high-quality electricity services to support public activities and ensure the success of the series of events marking the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
