Seventy events will be held in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) throughout 2026. The NTB Provincial Government targets 2.5 million visits, encompassing local, national, and international tourists.

NTB Tourism Office Head Ahmad Nur Aulia is optimistic about achieving 2.5 million visits in 2026 amid budget efficiencies. This effort will be pursued through collaboration with all tourism stakeholders.

“Our planning document targets 2.5 million visits. If we can exceed that, why not? For international tourists, we hope to reach one million visits,” he said during a press conference at his office on Monday (30/3/2026).

Nevertheless, the NTB Provincial Government does not differentiate between visiting tourists, whether local, national, or international. “As long as they want to holiday with us and can stay longer, this can contribute to the growth value of our tourism,” Aulia stated.

Aulia explained that all events are not solely owned by districts/cities or the NTB Provincial Government. “All these events will be elaborated. The goal is for us to share the same objectives and strengthen each other,” he clarified.

On the other hand, Aulia complained that many village-level events are not exposed on social media. As a result, many cultural attractions, such as the Peresean culture held in every region, are unknown to visitors holidaying in NTB.

“Many attractions are under-exposed. Many villages in NTB have attractions every week, but they end up unknown to tourists. This causes tourists’ stays in NTB to be short. We want tourists’ stays to be longer,” he said.

The 70 events to be held in NTB, Aulia stated, will be collaborated between the provincial government and districts/cities, communities, and even down to the village government level.

Specifically for the 2026 MotoGP event at Mandalika Circuit, Aulia said the NTB Provincial Government has prepared the agenda well in advance. This MotoGP event is expected to drive growth in the number of tourists to NTB.

“The hope is that Mandalika will be enlivened by MotoGP fans from outside the region and Indonesia. We will prepare this event six months in advance so that tourists coming to NTB are included in their visit packages,” Aulia explained.

Another event capable of boosting tourist visits is the Famtrip Bali Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF). This event will bring several international tourists to NTB. This event will be collaborated with the Bali Provincial Government.

“We are collaborating on preparing the event with other regions,” he said.

Of the 70 events to be held in NTB throughout 2026, four other events are included in the National Kharisma Event (KEN). These four events will receive funding from the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar).

“There is Rimpu Mantika in Bima, Alunan Budaya Pringgasela in East Lombok, Maulid Adat Bayan in North Lombok, and Gili Festival in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok,” Aulia revealed.
