70,050 Vehicles Return to Jabodetabek During Waisak Holiday

PT JASA Marga (Persero) Tbk. recorded 70,050 vehicles returning to Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) on Sunday, 31 May 2026, during the Waisak holiday. The data was collected at GT Ciawi 2 and GT Cikunir 6.

Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, stated in a written statement on Monday, 1 June 2026: “This represents an 18.55% increase compared to the normal traffic volume of 59,088 vehicles.”

According to Jasa Marga data, the highest increase was at GT Cikunir 6 with 17,145 vehicles, a 41.55% rise from the normal volume of 12,112 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles returning to Jabodetabek via GT Ciawi 2 totalled 52,905, up 12.62% from the normal 46,976 vehicles.

Traffic volume heading towards the Puncak Bogor area via GT Ciawi 1 reached 43,335 vehicles, a 31.86% increase from the normal 32,865 vehicles. The rise was observed through access routes from Puncak Bogor and eastern Jakarta.

In West Java, traffic heading to Bandung, Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas via GT Cileunyi Exit and GT Pasteur Exit totalled 68,625 vehicles, a 3.90% increase from the normal 66,052 vehicles. GT Cileunyi Exit recorded 34,240 vehicles, a 4.50% increase from the normal 32,764 vehicles, while GT Pasteur Exit saw 34,385 vehicles, up 3.3% from the normal 33,288 vehicles, according to Nursejati.

Jasa Marga noted that rest areas are available for use. Drivers heading to Bandung and surrounding areas can utilise rest stops at KM 72, KM 88, and KM 147 on the Cipularang and Padaleunyi toll roads, while those travelling to Puncak via Jagorawi Toll Road can use facilities at KM 10, KM 35, and KM 45.
