On the second day of the search, Wednesday morning (17/6), the joint SAR team successfully recovered the body of Muhammad Fajar Setiawan (7), who had been reported missing after drowning in the Batanghari River. The river flows through Teluk Jambu Village, Taman Rajo District, Muarojambi Regency, where the incident occurred on Tuesday evening.

According to the Commander of the Rescue Team from the Jambi SAR Office, Dede Alamsyah, the boy’s body was found in the river at around 06:30, approximately 10 metres from the location where he was first reported to have slipped into the water on Tuesday afternoon. Several traditional divers assisted in the operation.

“The victim was found deceased. After being evacuated from the water, we transported the body and handed it over to his family in Teluk Jambu Village, Muarojambi,” Dede Alamsyah stated.

He explained that the search effort had been underway since Tuesday afternoon and continued into the night. It involved dozens of personnel from the Jambi Basarnas Office, the Jambi Regional Police’s Water and Air Police Unit, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and a number of residents from Teluk Jambu Village, Taman Rajo District, Muarojambi.
