7 Facts: Orphaned Woman Murdered and Thrown from Elevated Toll Road
A woman identified as AA (25) was found dead on Jalan Sholeh Iskandar in Tanahsereal District, Bogor City, West Java. AA was confirmed as a murder victim. The case is being handled by police after the victim was discovered in the Simpang Yasmin area near BCC, Bogor, early Saturday (23 May). She was found with her eyes covered by cloth and a cut wound on her neck. Tanahsereal Police Chief Kompol Dody Rosjadi said the victim reportedly left to have coffee around 10 PM WIB on Friday (22 May), according to her family. She was discovered around 1:15 AM WIB on Saturday (23 May), and her body was immediately transported to a hospital.

A video of the suspect’s arrest, in which he was driving the victim’s car, circulated on social media. The suspect attempted to evade police pursuit. The chase began on a toll road section, where police ordered the suspect to stop, but he ignored them and sped away. The red car eventually overturned on the emergency lane, leading to his arrest. Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Rio Wahyu Anggoro confirmed the video’s authenticity.

CCTV footage circulating online shows the suspect threw the victim from the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) toll, causing her to fall onto Sholis Road. Kombes Rio Wahyu confirmed the incident was part of the same sequence as the viral arrest footage. The CCTV footage shows the car stopping on the BORR elevated toll. A person exited the left door, carrying something, threw it off the toll, then re-entered the vehicle before speeding away.

The suspect in the murder of AA (25) was arrested by Bogor City Police and West Java Police. He has been formally charged. ‘The suspect has been detained and charged, with evidence secured,’ said Bogor City Police’s Reskrim Chief Kompol Bagus Azi Lesmana Putra.

The family stated the suspect was a former schoolmate of the victim, denying any romantic relationship. ‘The suspect and the deceased were schoolmates, not lovers,’ said Syamsudin (52), the victim’s uncle and adoptive parent. ‘He is just a friend. When meeting schoolmates at reunions, they are just friends,’ he added.

The family described AA as an orphan who worked hard to pursue her education. She was raised by her uncle after her parents’ deaths. ‘I raised AA since her parents passed away. She was independent, working while studying and graduated with a bachelor’s degree,’ Syamsudin said. He added that she was known for her generosity among colleagues and family.

Police have charged the suspect in the murder of the woman found on Sholeh Iskandar Road (Sholis). The family demands the harshest punishment for the perpetrator. ‘I want the suspect punished accordingly. Taking a life means he should lose his own. If possible, the death penalty, or at least life imprisonment,’ said Syamsudin. ‘If someone wanted to take her possessions—money, jewellery, or a car—they could have.’
