BANDA ACEH, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam: Troops shot dead seven suspected separatist guerrillas in weekend violence in Aceh province, the military said on Monday.

The suspected Free Aceh Movement (GAM) members were shot dead during separate clashes in four districts on Saturday and Sunday, said provincial military spokesman Asep Sapari.

Three other rebels surrendered in South Aceh on Sunday, Sapari said. Troops seized five automatic rifle and some ammunition. -- AFP
