7,832 Personnel Deployed to Serve Eid Travellers at Soetta Airport
Tangerang — PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, has deployed 7,832 personnel to serve travellers during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday exodus for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Gregorian calendar period.
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Heru Karyadi stated on Wednesday in Tangerang that the airport has ensured all operational aspects are prepared to serve prospective Eid holiday travellers. Full readiness, encompassing personnel, infrastructure, and passenger services, has been confirmed to guarantee safe and comfortable travel for the public.
“We have undertaken various preparations from operational, facilities, and personnel readiness perspectives to anticipate increased passenger movement during the 2026 Eid Transport period,” he said.
As part of its readiness, Soetta Airport has deployed 7,832 operational personnel, with 2,197 officers per shift to maintain smooth flight operations. The airport’s runway infrastructure is also ensured to be ready with three runways, 175 parking stands, and 115 airbridges in optimal condition.
“Passenger facilities have been strengthened with additional baggage trolleys, cabin trolleys, as well as optimisation of Skytrain and inter-terminal shuttle buses,” he added.
Regarding system reliability, electrical load testing of backup gensets has been conducted to ensure that emergency power supply functions during outages. Security remains a priority with random vehicle checks at terminal areas, whilst ground transport modes have been increased, including bus integration services, AJAP shuttles, and regular and online taxis.
Emergency anticipation has been prepared through contingency plans including increased drainage capacity, installation of real-time water level sensors, and normalisation of water channels. Coordination with all stakeholders continues to be strengthened to maintain controlled airport operations throughout the Eid period.
“We are committed to ensuring all airport services run optimally so that the public can travel safely, comfortably, and smoothly,” Heru said.
