7,643 Joint Personnel Deployed to Secure National Dhikr and Prayer Event at Monas

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Metro Jaya Regional Police have deployed 7,64<0xA0>43 joint personnel to secure the National Dhikr and Prayer event held in commemoration of the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta. The event is expected to be attended by 100,000 participants from Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and other regions on Saturday (1/8).

“All personnel must carry out their duties professionally, humanely, and with full vigilance to ensure the entire series of activities proceeds safely, orderly, and smoothly,” said Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Brigadier General Pol. Dekananto Eko Purwono.

He requested that officers serve the public with patience and a calm attitude.

He detailed that the 7,643 joint personnel consist of 3,675 Metro Jaya Regional Police personnel, 1,143 personnel from regional police departments, 500 Brimob Korps personnel, 200 Sabhara Korps personnel, 1,845 TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) personnel, 145 Satpol PP (Municipal Police) personnel, and 135 Department of Transportation personnel, including towing vehicle officers.

According to him, security measures will be implemented through pre-emptive and preventive steps, including early detection and site sterilisation by Bomb Disposal (Jibom) and K9 teams.

Furthermore, access for participants to the Monas area will be opened via the North-East, South-East, and South-West gates.

To support participant mobility, 22 parking areas have been prepared with a capacity for approximately 1,450 buses, 3,680 cars, and 50 motorcycles.

He urged participants to use the designated entry points and parking areas according to their purpose and to follow the directions of officers on the ground.

“Members of the public who do not have business in the Monas area are advised to use alternative routes or utilise public transport to avoid traffic congestion,” he said.
