687 Joint Personnel Secure Four Protest Points in Central Jakarta

A total of 687 joint police personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, Central Jakarta Metro Police, and sector police stations have been placed on standby to secure protests at four points in the Central Jakarta area on Friday. Central Jakarta Metro Police Head of Public Relations, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the first protest will be held by the Legal Care Student Alliance and several other mass elements. “Security for the protest by the Legal Care Student Alliance and several mass elements in the Gambir area, with the activity planned for 10.00 WIB,” Erlyn said in a written statement on Friday. The next protest will be held by the Management of the Reform Student and Youth Committee at the DPN Indonesia LBH Office at 10.00 WIB. Subsequently, a protest by Cipayung Plus South Jakarta will take place at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Office at 13.00 WIB. Additionally, joint personnel are also on standby to secure a protest by the DKI Jakarta Student and Youth Alliance at the Financial Services Authority Office at 14.00 WIB. Officers are implementing situational traffic diversions at these location points, taking into account the number of demonstrators in the field. The public is urged to avoid the areas around the protest locations to anticipate traffic congestion.
