JAKARTA — Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that 68,000 sacrificial animals in the capital will be slaughtered during Eid al-Adha 1447 AH.
‘The number of sacrificial animals being slaughtered in Jakarta has increased. I received a report from the head of the relevant department that 68,000 animals will be processed over three days,’ Rano said at Dharma Jaya, Cakung, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
‘Today, the Jakarta Provincial Government has deployed 744 animal health inspectors and halal slaughterers to ensure the sacrificial rites proceed safely, orderly, and in accordance with regulations,’ he added.
Rano also noted an increase in the number of sacrificial animals distributed by the Jakarta Provincial Government compared to last year.
‘As part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the community’s sacrificial rites, the number of cattle distributed this year has risen from 153 in 2025 to 210 in 2026,’ he said.
Therefore, Rano urged officials to conduct health inspections according to standards, both ante-mortem and post-mortem.
