The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is facilitating 67 of its detainees to perform Eid prayers at the KPK Merah Putih Building. The prayers will commence at 06:30 WIB.

“Tomorrow, Saturday (21/3), coinciding with 1 Syawal 1447 H, the KPK will hold Eid al-Fitr prayers, starting around 06:30 to 08:00 WIB at the Mosque of the KPK Merah Putih Building,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (20/3/2026).

He explained that meal delivery services will be open from 09:00 to 11:00 WIB. Detainees will also have the opportunity for face-to-face meetings with family members from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB.

“Currently, there are a total of 81 detainees, comprising 41 from the KPK Detention Centre at the Merah Putih Building (K4) and 40 from the KPK Detention Centre at the C1 Building. Of this total, 67 are Muslims,” Budi clarified.

Budi explained that these services are provided to uphold the principle of human rights (HAM) for the detainees. All facilities are given while still considering security aspects.

“Thus, the KPK affirms that the law enforcement process carried out does not neglect humanitarian values, but rather proceeds alongside respect for the basic rights of every individual,” he stated.

The government has officially set Eid al-Fitr 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026 to fall on 21 March 2026. This determination was decided based on the results of the isbat session held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).

The isbat session for determining 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (19/3/2026). Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar directly led the isbat session.

“Thus, based on the results of the reckoning and the absence of reports of the crescent moon being sighted, it was agreed that 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026,” he said.
