656 Personnel Secure Tipitaka Chanting at Borobudur Temple Complex

Magelang (ANTARA) - A total of 656 joint personnel have been placed on standby to secure the series of Tipitaka Chanting and Asalha Mahapuja 2570 BE/2026 events taking place at Borobudur Temple and its surroundings.

Acting Deputy Chief of Magelang Resort Police, Police Commissioner Eko Mardiyanto, said in Magelang on Sunday that the security personnel comprise members of the Magelang Resort Police, the Gegana Team of the Central Java Mobile Brigade, Kodim 0705/Magelang, the Magelang Regency Transportation Office, the Magelang Regency Public Order Agency, the Magelang Regency Fire and Rescue Service, Borobudur Temple security, and Mendut Temple security.

He said all personnel have been positioned at a number of strategic points to ensure that the entire series of worship activities and public activities runs safely, in an orderly manner, and smoothly.

According to him, the personnel are tasked with managing traffic flow, securing event locations, monitoring entry and exit routes to the area, and providing services to participants, Buddhist devotees, tourists, and members of the public active around Borobudur Temple.

He said the security operation is being carried out to the fullest as a form of commitment by the National Police together with all relevant agencies to provide a sense of safety and comfort during the nationally scaled religious event.

He expressed hope that, through the preparedness of the 656 joint personnel, the entire series of events would run successfully without disruption, while also reflecting a shared commitment to maintaining security, public order, and tolerance in Magelang Regency.
